Job summary

Peregrine Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform team in Washington, DC. You will own moderately complex infrastructure problems, scale our cloud footprint, and improve reliability while balancing cost and security.

This hands-on role involves designing regional environments, building autoscaling, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product teams to deliver secure, observable services for government and enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for infrastructure work.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms, container orchestration, IaC tooling.
• Track record of reducing cloud costs without compromising reliability.
• Security and compliance practices in production environments.
• Strong developer experience focus: tooling, guardrails, docs.

Responsibilities

• Own moderately complex infrastructure problems from design through production.
• Improve performance, reliability, and security of Peregrine's platform.
• Reduce cloud spend while maintaining headroom and scalability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical decisions beyond own area.
• Stand up new regions/environments with minimal manual work as growth occurs.
• Build autoscaling and right-sizing systems; strengthen incident response.
