Job summary

Peregrine Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Platform team to scale the cloud footprint. You will own infrastructure initiatives, improve performance and reliability, and drive cost-efficiency while maintaining security and developer-friendly tooling.

You’ll tackle moderately complex problems end-to-end, mentor peers, and collaborate with product teams. Ability to work in Washington, DC office is expected; security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for infra-related work.
• Hands-on experience with public clouds, container orchestration, and IaC tooling.
• Track record of reducing cloud costs without sacrificing reliability.
• Strong security and compliance experience.
• Developer experience focus: tooling, guardrails, and docs.
• On-call ownership and incident response experience.
• Located in Washington, DC and able to work in the office.
• Active U.S. security clearance (required).

Responsibilities

• Build and ship initiatives to scale Peregrine's cloud footprint and improve performance.
• Reduce infrastructure cost while maintaining reliability and security.
• Strengthen platform security posture and provide developer-friendly tooling.
• Own moderately complex infra problems from design through production.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with product teams and other platforms to ensure reliability.
