Job summary

Peregrine Technologies is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Platform team in San Francisco. You will lead technical strategy for scaling Peregrine's cloud footprint, drive performance and reliability initiatives, and mentor engineers across the platform.

The role blends hands-on leadership with cross-functional influence, partnering with product engineering and traffic teams to set direction and ensure scalable, secure infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale, with direct ownership of platform, networking, or traffic systems.
• Hands-on experience with major public cloud platforms, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.

Responsibilities

• Stand up new regions and customer environments with minimal manual work as Peregrine's footprint grows.
• Build autoscaling and right-sizing systems that cut cloud spend without sacrificing headroom.
• Strengthen reliability and incident response for mission-critical services so outages are rare and fast to resolve.
• Hardening network and platform security controls to meet the compliance bar our public-sector customers require.
