Job summary

MS2, a national leader in transportation data management, is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (SaaS Operations) in Ann Arbor, MI. The role focuses on reliability, security, and operability of the SaaS platform, with ownership of AWS infrastructure, incident response, and automation.

You will partner with Engineering, QA, Support, and Product to reduce risk, strengthen deployment practices, and improve service reliability across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, SRE, DevOps, or related roles with production systems responsibility.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience in production SaaS environments.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, connectivity).
• Strong production SQL skills for operational troubleshooting and data integrity checks.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, deployment automation, and scripting.
• Proven ownership of production incident handling and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience supporting production backend services in C#/.NET environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities across application, infrastructure, networking, and data domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform and integration initiatives end-to-end (design, implement, test, release, support).
• Own SaaS platform operations across application runtime, AWS infra, and networking.
• Administer and maintain production environments (patching, hardening, backup, lifecycle planning, health monitoring).
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and follow-through for platform/infrastructure issues.
• Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and operational standards.
• Monitor platform performance, capacity, and cloud resource utilization to identify risks and optimize efficiency.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, patching, and repeatable workflows.
• Partner with Technical Support to drive platform/product improvements from recurring issues.
• Support SOC 2 compliance efforts with technical controls and audit-ready evidence.
• Operate with autonomy on complex issues and lead cross-functional execution for major incidents.
