Job summary

Defense Unicorns is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer to join the Navy Delivery team. You will bridge the gap between applications and the platform, shaping secure, scalable deployments on the Unicorn Delivery Service and Kubernetes environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with cloud-native tech, containers, CI/CD, and IaC, along with collaboration with application teams to translate requirements into repeatable deployment artifacts and robust pipelines.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience deploying and supporting production apps or platform environments.
• Cloud-native tech, containers, CI/CD, IaC, or Kubernetes environments.
• Strong Linux/Unix troubleshooting across app and platform layers.
• Experience with application architectures, APIs, containers, and deployment requirements.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes manifests, Helm config, CRDs, or CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a link between applications and the Navy platform environment to enable secure deployment.
• Implement infrastructure as code and build Kubernetes clusters across distributions (EKS, RKE2).
• Improve security, observability, and deployment automation across services.
• Collaborate with application, platform, and external teams to meet mission objectives.
