Defense Unicorns is seeking a Platform Engineer with strong Kubernetes expertise to join the Customer Success team. You will manage Unicorn Delivery Service deployments across AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and on-prem clusters for government-backed vendors, while developing training content and delivering customer sessions.

The role emphasizes IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu), GitOps, and close collaboration with product and engineering to improve delivery and support. Remote work available in the USA.

Qualifications

• Platform Engineer with strong Kubernetes expertise and customer-facing experience.
• Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and on-prem clusters.
• Hands-on with Azure AKS, AWS EKS, or on-prem Kubernetes.
• Terraform or OpenTofu-based IaC and GitOps tooling.
• CI/CD knowledge (GitLab or GitHub) and DevSecOps mindset.
• U.S. citizenship necessary for government contracts; clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate UDS environments on AWS EKS, Azure AKS, and on-prem clusters.
• Create custom UDS packages and modules; manage IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu).
• Deliver onboarding, training content, and customer sessions (remote/on-site).
• Provide on-call support and meet SLAs.
• Gather feedback to inform product/engineering; drive improvements.
• Analyze usage data to optimize delivery and outcomes.
