Job summary

Astra is seeking a Platform Engineer to own core infrastructure and tooling, including Terraform migrations, CI/CD pipelines, and environment provisioning. You will partner with product engineers to ship code with reliable, observable systems in a regulated, real-money environment.

You will help build scalable internal platforms, improve developer velocity, and contribute to compliance tooling while operating independently on production changes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform/infrastructure or backend roles with ownership.
• Experience maturing internal tooling, CI/CD, or service platforms.
• Startup/small-team experience with autonomous ownership.
• Production cloud infra in GCP/AWS, with IaC.
• Partner with product teams to unblock work, not isolated.

Responsibilities

• Own portions of core platform infra, including Terraform migration and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and maintain tooling that lets engineers ship code without infra pain.
• Advance observability with metrics collection and instrumentation.
• Standardize monitoring, alerts, and business metrics.
• Harden pipelines and support cost visibility in GCP.
• Contribute to compliance tooling, onboarding, and infra docs.
• Operate independently on production infra changes.
