Job summary

Evolution USA is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale core backend systems powering the platform. You’ll own critical services, collaborate with product, data, and ML teams, and help shape the technical direction.

You will tackle complex problems, drive engineering best practices, and ship reliable systems for a growing customer base, with autonomy and ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise building backend services with Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, databases, APIs and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience deploying and operating production systems within AWS.
• Hands-on with EKS, ECS, Lambda, networking and cloud infra.
• Experience using Terraform and IaC tooling.
• Excellent communication across technical and non-technical teams.

The Role

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong expertise building backend applications and services with Python
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, databases, APIs, and cloud-native architectures
• Experience deploying and operating production systems within AWS
• Hands-on experience with services such as EKS, ECS, Lambda, networking, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD, software security, and modern engineering practices
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams

Nice To Have

• Experience working in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, biotech, fintech, cybersecurity, or life sciences
• Exposure to machine learning platforms and data-intensive applications
• Experience building third-party integrations and large-scale data workflows
• Familiarity with modern workflow orchestration tools and data platforms
