Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC in the Greater Boston area is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Architect to own and design the buildout of AWS infrastructure. The role is hands‑on with Python, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform, and it will set the standard for how engineering teams ship software.

You will lead architecture decisions for deployment, scaling, and platform tooling in a cloud‑native environment, with ~55% focus on AWS development, 25% on CI/CD creation, and 20% on automation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related field.
• Strong background designing and building AWS environments from the ground up.
• Proficiency in Python for infrastructure, tooling, and automation.
• Experience with data‑intensive systems, pipelines, or platforms.
• Familiarity with APIs and cloud native system design.
• Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub).

Job description

A growing team in the life sciences and pharmaceutical space is building out a cloud platform from the ground up and they are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Architect in the Greater Boston area 3 days per week onsite.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will own and design the buildout of AWS infrastructure using tools like Python, GitHub, CI/CD Pipelines, and Terraform. You will be defining how the platform is built, deployed, and scaled, while setting the standard for how engineering teams ship software.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or
• Strong background designing and building AWS environments from the ground up
• Proficiency in Python for infrastructure, tooling, and automation
• Experience working with data-intensive systems, pipelines, or platforms
• Familiarity with APIs, and cloud native system design
• Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub)

Desired Skills & Experience

• Exposure to scientific data, life sciences, or lab systems
• Experience supporting AI/ML or data platforms
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration
