Job summary

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer for our client partner.

This Senior level role sits in the Datacenter Engineering Group, delivering platform services across public cloud (AWS and GCP) and private cloud (VMware and OpenShift). You will work hands-on with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, and Git to build repeatable patterns, harden environments, and automate across on‑prem and cloud.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience.
• Hands-on with OpenShift workloads and virtualization.
• Experience provisioning images and templates for OpenShift workloads.
• Public cloud experience with AWS or GCP.
• Multi-cloud security models and cross-account delivery.
• On‑prem technologies including VMware and Linux/Windows server administration.
• Foundational system administration and network fundamentals.
• Experience with Ansible content and AAP workflows.
• RESTful APIs/GraphQL/microservices for automation.
• Security best practices, secrets management and certificate handling.
• Proficient with Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage VMs and containers on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Provision images and templates for workloads.
• Build automation for on‑prem and cloud with Terraform/Ansible.
• Deliver platform services across AWS and GCP accounts.
• Lifecycle management of enterprise OS images, patching, hardening.
• Contribute to resiliency, data protection, and DR efforts.
• Own automation tasks from design through delivery.
• Develop Ansible playbooks/roles and adhere to Git workflows.
• Participate in evaluations and re‑engineering for improvement.
• Document design decisions, estimates, code modules, and metrics.
