Job summary

Dremio is hiring for a senior platform engineer to own the observability stack, ingesting telemetry and building dashboards for real-time visibility across the system. You will work across DevOps/SRE and application teams to deliver scalable, user-friendly solutions and partner with SAP to deliver integrated experiences.

The role emphasizes building high‑quality, distributed systems at scale, with a focus on persistence, caching, and secure access control, in a remote/global setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years experience using Java.
• 2+ years hands-on with infrastructure-as-code (Helm, Terraform).
• Deep experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Hands-on with OpenTelemetry or observability platforms.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong problem solving and learning attitude.

Responsibilities

• Build and own an observability platform ingesting telemetry (events, logs, traces) with OpenTelemetry.
• Deliver dashboards for real-time system health for Support and Field teams.
• Design and implement a notification/alerting system driven by telemetry and AI.
• Write infrastructure-as-code with Helm and Terraform to simplify deployment.
• Develop frameworks standardizing development across teams, addressing access control at scale.
• Collaborate with SRE/DevOps to define best practices for workflows.
• Engage with developer community to gather pain points and drive improvements.
• Lead roadmap and integration milestones with SAP HANA/BDC for a cohesive experience.
