Job summary

U.S. Soccer Federation in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of reusable platform components powering Soccer Services and Learning Center experiences.

You will collaborate across product, design, data, and operations to build scalable, accessible, and secure solutions for coaches, referees, educators, and members. The role requires strong full-stack capabilities, hands-on coding, and leadership in architecture reviews, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with 3+ years in senior/lead roles.
• Proven track record delivering full-stack systems across frontend, backend, APIs, data and cloud.
• Strong HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with at least one server-side language and relational data modeling.
• Experience designing maintainable service boundaries, web APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Strong knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, observability and secure production operations.
• Ability to diagnose issues across code, infra and logs; lead incident response and safe production fixes.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills; able to partner with nontechnical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work from the National Training Center and connect details to broader goals.
• General knowledge of soccer or interest in learning quickly.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and end-to-end delivery of production capabilities across Soccer.
• Drive development of services and the Learning Center from discovery through release and iteration.
• Serve as in-person Product & Technology partner; clarify requirements and manage dependencies and risks.
• Create reusable platform building blocks and patterns adopted across products.
• Deliver dashboards, course modules, certification flows, registrations and admin tools for learners and members.
• Provide architectural guidance, code reviews, documentation, and mentorship to engineers.
• Design and operate backend services, data models, and integrations with strong auditability.
• Lead modernization while preserving data integrity and reliable service for current users.
• Set standards for testing, CD, observability, performance, security, and accessibility.
• Collaborate on roadmaps, technical strategy, sequencing, and measurable outcomes with leadership.
