Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a full-time Engineer to join the team responsible for ICE OpenShift container platform.

The role focuses on migrating high-perf applications to a microservices model using container technologies, collaborating with development and engineering teams to enable adoption. The engineer will design, build, and maintain Kubernetes/OpenShift infrastructure, participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, and provide expert technical support and mentorship to developers

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent platform engineering experience.
• 5+ years of production experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Understanding of Kubernetes components, CNI, CSI, and ingresses.
• Experience with scaling for performance and high availability.
• Experience with observability (tracing, logging, metrics) and analytics.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a service-oriented team.
• Project management, organization, and time management.
• Customer-focused with a drive for excellent user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes and OpenShift platform infrastructure.
• Plan and implement container infrastructure solutions.
• Capacity planning, tuning, policy, and cost management.
• Provide technical analysis and resolve problems; implement solutions.
• Support developers, operations, release engineers, and end-users.
• Educate and mentor platform consumers and team members.
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support.
• Respond to production issues in a 24/7 environment.
