Job summary

Workday Government in Reston, VA seeks a Sr Software Development Engineer to help build and implement solutions for our Kubernetes platform, including infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools. This role may require on-site work in the DC/MD/VA area and may require TS/SCI clearance.

You will join a diverse team, stay current with platform engineering trends, and collaborate across locations to deliver secure, scalable services that support federal agencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with large-scale cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience.
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• CI/CD pipelines with Argo CD.
• Programming in at least one language (C#, Python, Ruby, Rust or Go).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core platform components with high availability, scalability, and security.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments using Terraform and Argo CD.
• Provide support and resolve platform-related issues with peer development teams.
• Ensure security standards and compliance across the platform.
• Create and maintain documentation for components and processes.
• Share knowledge within the team.
• Collaborate across locations and time zones.
• Stay up-to-date with latest platform engineering trends.
