Job summary

ZoomInfo is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to act as a senior technical force multiplier across Platform Engineering’s Integrations, Workflows & Orchestration, and Data Management pillars. This hands-on, high-impact IC role embeds with teams on a rotating basis, setting technical direction and accelerating delivery.

You will lead the design of scalable, event-driven architectures using Java Spring Boot, Node.js NestJS, and Kafka, while driving reliability, observability, and platform

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering with senior or staff-level leadership.
• Deep backend distributed systems experience; Java Spring Boot and/or Node.js NestJS.
• Experience building or owning integrations with CRM, marketing data platforms.
• Ability to influence without authority across teams.
• Strong modernization, reliability, observability with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Embed with Integrations, Workflows & Orchestration, and Data Management teams on a rotating basis.
• Define and evolve scalable, fault-tolerant event-driven architecture using Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, Kafka, and workflows.
• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for high-severity issues.
• Drive platform modernization and improve observability.
• Establish best practices for idempotency, retries, error handling, and API versioning.
• Shape multi-quarter roadmaps with leadership and Product teams.
• Lead build-vs-buy evaluations and document architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers and participate in interviewing to raise the hiring bar.
