Job summary

Sunflower Bank, N.A. is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to define and drive the technology vision for Platform Engineering as part of IT modernization.

You will lead the Internal Developer Platform, establish secure-by-design golden paths, build reusable capabilities, and partner with Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Operations, Data and Applications teams to improve delivery speed, reliability, control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive software, infrastructure, or platform engineering experience.
• 5+ years leading large-scale engineering initiatives or programs.
• Deep understanding of platform engineering, DevEx, DevOps, SRE, cloud platforms, IaC, CI/CD, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year Platform Engineering roadmap aligned to business strategy and IT modernization.
• Establish secure-by-design engineering golden paths and reusable platform capabilities.
• Create policy-governed self-service experiences with traceable approvals.
• Drive platform product management, adoption strategies, and customer feedback loops.
• Partner with Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Operations, Data and Applications teams to modernize the technology estate.
