Job summary

Sunflower Bank, N.A. seeks a Principal Platform Engineer to define and drive the technology vision for Platform Engineering within our IT modernization efforts. You will standardize, automate, and govern platforms to deliver secure, scalable banking capabilities.

You will lead the Internal Developer Platform development and partner with Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Operations to align delivery with business outcomes while reducing technical debt.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of progressive software engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering experience.
5+ years leading large-scale engineering initiatives or technical programs.
Deep understanding of Platform Engineering, DevEx, DevOps, SRE, Cloud Platforms, IaC, CI/CD Automation, Observability.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Define and execute a multi-year Platform Engineering roadmap aligned to Sunflower Bank's business strategy and IT modernization goals.
Establish secure-by-design engineering golden paths and reusable platform capabilities.
Build and evolve the Internal Developer Platform with self-service and governance.
Drive platform product management practices, including roadmaps and adoption strategies.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Operations, Data, and Applications teams.
