Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the IT- Oper Exc Infrastructure team in Miramar, FL. You will maintain a global virtual compute environment, drive automation, and lead a team of engineers to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure.

The role requires strong Hyper-V/VMware, Windows Server, IaC, and scripting skills, with travel as needed and SDLC alignment. Onsite in Miramar, with extensive collaboration across business units.

Qualifications

• Expert in Hyper-V and VMware virtualization with 8+ years.
• 3+ years in hybrid cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
• 5+ years managing Windows Server environments.
• 3+ years with Cisco UCS server platform.
• 3+ years managing hyperconverged server infrastructure.
• Experience with automation tools for deploying Windows/VMware on‑prem and cloud.
• Strong scripting in PowerShell.
• 5+ years of Group Policy and DSC authoring.
• Experience with IaC and configuration management: Terraform, DSC, Puppet, Ansible, etc.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi‑task and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain global, virtual compute environment focusing on performance, availability, cybersecurity, and growth needs.
• Design and maintain monitoring, reporting and capacity planning using internal systems.
• Develop a DR strategy for virtualization aligned with production plans.
• Collaborate with hardware and capacity teams to deliver compute/storage strategies per cybersecurity standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of systems engineers; drive automation improvements.
• Plan and lead complex application and core server designs; ensure SDLC compliance.
• Identify opportunities for optimization and cost control; provide technical guidance.
