Job summary

Medallia, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Senior Platform Software Engineer to design, operate, and evolve large-scale distributed platforms powering engineering teams. You will ensure reliability, security, and scalability across production and non-production environments while partnering with multiple teams.

Ideal candidates have deep SRE fundamentals, strong automation skills, and experience with cloud infra and Kubernetes. This hybrid role requires 3 days on-site in Tysons area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software, systems, platform, DevOps, SRE or related engineering experience.
• 3+ years operating distributed systems in production.
• Experience building or operating high-availability platforms and data replication.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate highly available distributed platforms.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive systemic improvements.
• Design failover, DR, backup/restore, upgrades and capacity strategies.
• Build automation to reduce toil and improve deployments and recovery.
• Develop observability via metrics, logs, dashboards and alerts.
• Review architectures for production readiness of services using our platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on reliable platform patterns.
• Create docs, runbooks, and knowledge sharing for the team.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.
