Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to design and redesign expansive infrastructure and information systems. You will document current-state architectures, design ideal-state solutions, and plan deployments to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• Determine and analyze trends from data to aid in decision-making.
• Understand business context, needs, and processes to document current state.
• Express user needs as business requirements and assess build vs buy options.
• Develop a change strategy based on gap analyses and readiness assessments.
• Conduct gap analysis between current and future states for change strategy.
• Design, execute and report on systems and service tests.
• Create and review business cases to quantify costs and ROI.
• Produce lucid reports for diverse audiences.
• Develop architectures, policies, and practices for information lifecycle needs.
• Assess readiness for technological and organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Design and select storage, data center, and server environments.
• Lead advances in architectures to improve value and reduce cost.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to maintain artifacts.
• Collect requirements via interviews, workshops, and analysis.
• Document as‑is and to‑be processes and migrations.
• Evaluate external developments and their impact on the org.
• Perform feasibility studies and cost‑benefit analyses.
• Implement security measures and monitor for issues.
• Maintain policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead technical developments to improve infrastructure quality.
• Plan training and develop team capabilities; pursue external accreditation.
• Contribute to automation tooling and knowledge base documents.
• Participate in after‑hours support and on-call duties.
• Onboard and train new team members.
