Job summary

Lightning Labs is seeking a pragmatic senior software engineer who embraces the DevOps mindset to improve our developer experience. You will manage the internal platform's cloud and cluster technologies, oversee stateful backends, and enhance observability, robustness, and security across the system.

The role involves advising development teams on Helm charts, cloud resources, and the Kubernetes lifecycle to streamline deployments and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux, networking, security, cloud, and IaC fundamentals.
• Production Kubernetes cluster management experience.
• Experience with Go, Python or Rust.
• Knowledge of Bitcoin and Lightning Network is a plus.
• Open source contribution familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Manage the underlying cloud and cluster technologies that compose our internal platform.
• Manage stateful backend services such as databases and Bitcoin/LN nodes.
• Utilize, operate, and extend observability tools (logging/monitoring/tracing).
• Improve robustness & security of our platform using operators and overlay networks.
• Advise/assist dev teams with integrations, such as Helm charts, cloud resources, and the k8s lifecycle.
