Job summary

Newton Research is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the Kubernetes platform end to end, including cluster provisioning, upgrades, and multi-tenancy work across AWS EKS and customer Azure/GCP deployments.

You will design deployments with Helm, GitOps, and progressive delivery, packaging workloads for customer environments and building cloud infra with Terraform. The role emphasizes security, SSO integration, and observability through Prometheus and Grafana.

Qualifications

• Own the Kubernetes platform including provisioning, upgrades, and multi-tenancy.
• Architect deployment with Helm, GitOps (Argo CD/Flux), and progressive delivery.
• Harden customer deployments and support installations/upgrades.
• Build and maintain Terraform infra across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Establish SLOs/SLIs and lead incident response.
• Maintain SOC 2 posture including RBAC, audit logs, and encryption.
• Experience with SSO integrations (SAML/OIDC).
• Fluency in Python, Bash, or Go; strong Linux skills.
• Strong communication and ability to explain tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kubernetes platform lifecycle and upgrades.
• Design deployments with Helm and GitOps.
• Package apps for customer clusters and assist with upgrades.
• Manage ingress, certificates, secrets, and networking.
• Build cloud infra with Terraform across clouds.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and release gating.
• Instrument monitoring and define SLOs/SLIs.
• SOC 2 posture maintenance and audits.
