Job summary

ESPO Corporation seeks a Senior Platform Engineer in Kansas City, MO, for a 5+ month contract to lead platform design, automation, and developer experience initiatives. You will architect self-service infrastructure, own CI/CD pipelines, and mentor engineers across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology, business, or related field; 8 years of relevant experience required.
• 8+ years in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or related discipline.
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and IaC tooling like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Strong scripting in Bash, Python, PowerShell, Go, or similar.
• Expert-level proficiency with Git.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, certificate management, and security in cloud/hybrid environments.
• Extensive experience designing, building, and operating CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lead projects and delegate tasks; strong analytical problem solving.
• Attention to detail and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead DevOps practices and automate infrastructure and deployment.
• Write code to provision infrastructure and deploy apps at scale.
• Define patterns, standards, and reusable components; document trade-offs.
• Partner with engineering to improve developer experience and resolve bottlenecks.
• Scope and lead complex work streams with stakeholders.
• Own CI/CD toolchain and drive adoption of new tooling.
• Define and own SLO/SLI frameworks; lead incident response and blameless post-mortems.
• Mentor engineers; conduct reviews and contribute to hiring.
• Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
