Arta is building the core financial systems that power its wealth platform, focusing on trading, ledger, billing, and real-time data pipelines. The role emphasizes correctness, consistency, and low latency in high‑reliability environments.

You will design APIs and backend services, ensure observability, and contribute to distributed systems while collaborating with ML teams as needed. Location preference is Bay Area with flexibility for exceptional remote candidates on the West Coast.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend or systems engineer with distributed systems experience.
• Experience in financial systems (trading, ledger, payments) or data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core financial systems (trading, ledger, billing).
• Develop systems for transaction processing, reconciliation, and portfolio state management.
• Build and scale real‑time and batch data pipelines.
• Architect APIs and backend services for internal and external use.
• Ensure system reliability, observability, and fault tolerance.
• Contribute to distributed systems design (event‑driven, microservices, streaming).
• Partner with ML teams to integrate models into production systems when needed.
