Job summary

Oracle's Network Region Build team seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate software for OCI network deployment and lifecycle management, including automation platforms, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will lead architecture discussions, mentor engineers, and advance observability and reliability while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery across distributed systems powering OCI regions and AI data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong software engineering in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience designing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and SOA.
• Design modular, extensible software architectures for long‑term sustainability.
• Experience building and operating production engineering platforms.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern practices.
• Experience supporting Linux-based production environments.
• Experience designing highly available, observable systems.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production software for OCI network deployment and lifecycle management.
• Build and evolve engineering platforms, APIs, automation services, and operations systems for OCI global network.
• Own software solutions from architecture to deployment and operations.
• Develop scalable automation using modern programming languages and practices.
• Collaborate with Network, Infrastructure, and Network Automation teams to craft scalable software solutions.
• Design and implement resilient, observable, and highly available platform services.
• Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment workflows, and release processes.
• Troubleshoot distributed systems across production software and networking.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to NRB’s long‑term architecture.
• Develop documentation, standards, runbooks, and best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and validation.
• Mentor engineers through leadership, reviews, and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement by simplifying operations via software and automation.
