Job summary

Numeral is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Platform to build the services, infrastructure, and developer interfaces powering our tax automation platform. You will work across infrastructure, the public API, and MCP server, delivering reliable APIs and scalable integrations with billing platforms and ERPs.

You will own projects end to end, shaping architecture, implementing solutions, and improving observability to ensure production reliability for customers and partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating backend software in production.
• Experience building APIs, integrations, or data pipelines with emphasis on correctness and maintainability.
• Strong backend skills with Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• Practical experience with AWS and containerized workloads (ECS, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals and observability.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve our public API and MCP server for developers, customers, and AI tools.
• Develop integrations with billing platforms and ERPs for data synchronization and workflows.
• Improve infrastructure to support reliable APIs, background jobs, and data pipelines.
• Own projects end to end from design through production and operation.
• Enhance observability, performance, and incident response to prevent issues.
• Automate infrastructure and deployments via infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship new capabilities while maintaining reliability.
