Job summary

Numeral is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Platform to build the services, infrastructure, and developer interfaces powering our tax automation platform.

You will work across infrastructure, public API, MCP server, and integrations with billing platforms and ERPs. This is a hands-on role with ownership from design through production, collaborating with product and engineering to deliver reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating backend software or platform systems in production.
• Strong backend engineering skills with Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis or comparable technologies.
• Experience building APIs, integrations, or data pipelines with attention to correctness and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the public API and MCP server for customers, developers, and AI tools.
• Create integrations with billing platforms and ERPs, handling data synchronization and workflows.
• Improve infrastructure to support reliable APIs, background jobs, and data pipelines as volumes grow.
• Own projects end to end from design to production and operation.
• Improve observability, performance, and incident response to prevent repeat issues.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment workflows via infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and containers.
