Job summary

Target is seeking a Senior Engineer within Digital Enablement in Minnesota to design and maintain production-grade APIs and developer tooling. You will support distributed systems, improve reliability, and collaborate with enterprise engineering teams to deploy modern tooling and observability.

You will influence architectural decisions, mentor peers, and contribute to automation and best practices that enable rapid innovation while maintaining a resilient production environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years designing and building RESTful or gRPC APIs, preferably in Go and/or TypeScript.
• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices, including GitHub Actions workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and lifecycle management of services.
• Provide technical oversight and mentor peers.
• Lead code reviews, design reviews, testing and debugging at the application level.
• Architect and implement reliable, scalable APIs and developer tooling.
• Embed data quality protocols across data acquisition, processing, and storage.
• Partner with teams to ensure deployment tooling, observability frameworks, and reliability practices.
