Job summary

Ralliant Corporation is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to build and operate the platform's core services, guiding architecture and standards across multiple operating companies. The role combines hands-on engineering with mentorship and cross-team collaboration on AI-first delivery.

The candidate will own reliability, security, and cost, define SLIs/SLOs, and contribute to the evolution of golden paths and shared services to accelerate software delivery across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 15+ years across platform disciplines (platform engineering, cloud, DevOps, SRE, and software engineering).
• Hands-on experience building internal developer platforms and shared services.
• AWS experience with containers, Kubernetes, IaC, networking, security posture, and cost.
• Deep CI/CD and GitOps experience; improve developer experience of shipping changes.
• Production-ownership: SLI/SLO, observability, incident response, capacity planning.
• Strong API design and durable production services; backend languages Go/Python/TypeScript.
• Platform security: IAM, OAuth/OIDC, secrets management, policy-as-code.
• Architecture/standards stewardship across teams.
• AI-first delivery with agentic coding tools; shaping best practices.
• Influence and communication across organizational boundaries and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Build platform capability hands-on from architecture to production and operation.
• Steward architecture, standards, and golden paths across the portfolio.
• Advance AI-first software delivery to raise developer throughput and create shared services.
• Own reliability, security, and cost for services with defined SLIs/SLOs and automated toil reduction.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and hands-on leadership across teams.
