Job summary

Amplitude’s Cloud Platform team builds the systems every Amplitude engineer relies on daily as we redefine them for the AI era.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll own medium-to-high‑complexity platform projects end‑to‑end and help shape a platform where AI agents are first‑class users alongside humans: kicking off deploys, opening PRs against infrastructure, and triaging incidents for throughput parity with a team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE with cloud infra.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Production experience operating Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS, or on-prem) at scale.
• Proficiency in Golang or Python and Terraform.
• Working knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, ALB, S3).
• Familiarity with CNCF ecosystem (Argo, Helm, Backstage, Envoy).
• Track record delivering projects that improve reliability or performance.
• Curiosity about AI as a multiplier in infrastructure work.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact platform projects improving developer experience, reliability, or security.
• Build the AI-augmented platform with easy-to-reason tooling and policy-as-code.
• Own Infrastructure‑as‑Code for Kubernetes, AWS, and GCP using Terraform, Helm, Kustomize.
• Evolve our CI/CD backbone (Argo CD / Workflows / Rollouts, GitHub Actions).
• Instrument and operate observability with Datadog and define SLOs.
• Participate in on‑call and incident response; turn postmortems into durable improvements.
• Mentor engineers and onboard new teammates, including AI-assisted development.
