Job summary

Hard Rock Digital is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in platform engineering to scale our internal developer platform on Backstage. You will design self-service workflows, templates, and pipelines, and implement scalable AWS, hybrid-cloud, and observability practices.

You’ll drive automation of CI/CD pipelines, ensure security by design, and collaborate across product engineering, SRE, QA, security, and operations to boost developer velocity. AI tooling is a core expectation.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has deep platform engineering experience and ownership mindset.
• Experience with self-service workflows and golden paths for product teams.
• Strong AWS expertise and cloud-native architectures, multi-account setups.
• Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and Helm for container orchestration.
• IaC with Terraform/Terragrunt and modular design for self-service use.
• Scripting/automation in Python, Bash, TypeScript or related languages.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate an internal developer platform on Backstage.
• Create self-service workflows and templates to provision infrastructure and environments.
• Architect and implement scalable AWS and hybrid-cloud infrastructure with IaC.
• Design and optimize container environments using EKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Lead automation of CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, TeamCity, or similar.
• Embed security and compliance guardrails into the platform design.
• Collaborate with product engineering, SRE, QA, and security teams to improve velocity.
• Define DevEx metrics and platform adoption to demonstrate impact.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate platform delivery and tooling.
