Job summary

Gravie is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and operate the platform our engineering teams ship on. AWS should be second nature: deep enough to reach for it before documentation, and you should be as comfortable working alongside AI agents as in a terminal.

The role owns shared infrastructure, pipelines, and tooling end to end, partners with architecture on direction, and treats engineers who use the platform as customers. This is on-call, hands-on work in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience.
• AWS to a depth that is second nature including IAM/DNS/VPC
• Infrastructure as code as default in Terraform/CDK
• Strong CI/CD engineering and templated pipelines
• Experience in platform or developer experience teams
• Hands-on with AI tooling in daily work
• Production operations: on-call, incidents, postmortems, SLO thinking
• Proficient in Python/Go/TypeScript or JVM languages
• Security, secrets, access control in regulated environments
• Clear written communication and documentation

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the shared platform: CI/CD pipelines, templates, deployment tooling, and infrastructure services.
• Own AWS infrastructure as code across multiple accounts, with review, testing, and rollback.
• Implement and sustain paved paths for teams, partnering with architecture on direction.
• Operate what you build: on-call for platform services and incident response.
• Build observability by default: metrics, logs, traces, SLOs, alerts.
• Own platform security posture with HIPAA/SOC 2 considerations.
• Make cloud spend attributable through tagging and cost visibility.
• Use AI agents to accelerate workflows, including code review and migrations.
• Automate toil to reduce manual requests and measure outcomes.
• Document and onboard developers as a deliverable for adoption.
• Drive adoption of platform capabilities and standard migrations.
• Raise engineering bar with code review and mentorship.
