Storm3 is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the reliability and performance of our healthcare platform. You will design and operate infrastructure, automation, and observability to keep applications secure, available, and compliant, partnering with Engineering, Product, and Security teams.

This high-impact role focuses on IaC, CI/CD, capacity planning, and disaster recovery, helping scale cloud environments across AWS/GCP/Azure while enabling rapid product development with stability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or Infra roles.
• Deep experience with cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Strong IaC, CI/CD, and observability capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Manage development, staging, and production environments with auditable deployments.
• Build and own CI/CD pipelines for safe, frequent releases (canary, blue/green, rollbacks).
• Create and maintain observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, alerts).
• Define and manage reliability standards via SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
• Lead incident response, including root-cause analysis and blameless postmortems.
• Automate operational workflows to reduce manual effort and boost reliability.
• Design scalable, highly available infrastructure with DR and backup strategies.
• Manage Kubernetes environments (networking, service discovery, resource management).
• Strengthen infrastructure security with secrets management, encryption, auditing.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, and performance of the systems that power our healthcare platform.

This is a highly impactful role where you’ll design and operate the infrastructure, automation, and observability systems that keep our applications secure, available, and performant. In healthcare, uptime isn’t just a technical metric. It’s critical to ensuring patients and providers can access care when they need it most.

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to establish reliability best practices, automate operational processes, and build a platform that enables rapid product development without compromising stability, security, or compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies
• Manage development, staging, and production environments with repeatable and auditable deployment processes
• Build and own CI/CD pipelines that support safe, frequent releases through automated testing, canary deployments, blue/green rollouts, and rollback strategies
• Create and maintain observability systems including metrics, logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, and alerting
• Define and manage reliability standards through SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
• Lead incident response efforts, including troubleshooting, communication, root-cause analysis, and blameless postmortems
• Automate operational workflows to reduce manual effort and improve system reliability
• Design highly scalable and resilient infrastructure, including capacity planning, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and high-availability architectures
• Manage containerized applications and Kubernetes environments, including networking, service discovery, and resource management
• Partner with Security and Engineering teams to strengthen infrastructure security, secrets management, encryption, vulnerability management, and audit logging
• Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability and operational excellence throughout the software development lifecycle

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
• Strong hands‑on experience operating production systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Deep expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies
• Experience managing containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong background building CI/CD pipelines and release automation processes
• Hands‑on experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, or OpenSearch
• Experience defining and operating SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages
• Experience leading incident response, on‑call operations, and root‑cause investigations
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, encryption, secrets management, and secure handling of sensitive data
• Proficiency with Git, version control workflows, and Agile development environments
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within healthcare, healthtech, fintech, or other highly regulated industries
• Familiarity with HIPAA‑compliant infrastructure and systems handling protected health information (PHI)
• Experience implementing disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience strategies
• Experience scaling cloud infrastructure within startup or growth‑stage environments
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence
• Experience supporting engineering organizations through rapid growth and increasing operational complexity
