Job summary

The French Sourcer in New York is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and own the company’s platform infrastructure from day one. You will shape the infrastructure roadmap, scale the AI health audit pipelines, and collaborate across engineering teams to improve DevOps, CI/CD, and testing environments.

You will work in a hybrid setup in New York, with a focus on latency, reliability, and cost efficiency while ensuring SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance.

Senior Platform Engineer — New York

New York City Metropolitan Area, United States · Permanent · Hybrid
Compensation: $230,000 to $300,000 USD base, plus 0.1% to 0.2% equity

Be the first dedicated platform engineer at an AI health company that needs to grow its audit volume 25 times, and write the infrastructure roadmap yourself instead of receiving one.

What you'd actually work on

• Managing and scaling the infrastructure that audits clinical notes against millions of criteria every day, including compute-heavy processing of unstructured PDFs and AI pipelines handling billions of tokens daily
• Owning the platform function from day one, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering and defining the infrastructure roadmap yourself
• Working with the two main engineering teams to own DevOps across both, build demo environments, and improve developer productivity through CI/CD, local and testing environments
• Designing infrastructure patterns that improve latency, reliability and cost, including moving audits toward real time as volume grows
• Leading security and compliance work end to end, from SOC 2 and HIPAA audits to consolidating SSO, identity, device management and access controls across internal tools
• Simplifying observability, improving key reliability metrics across all services, and managing infrastructure and tooling spend to hit cloud cost targets

Where it gets technically interesting

• The company has audited around 23 million clinical notes so far, about 1% of US notes in a year, and the goal is 1 in 4, which means 25 times the current volume on the same AI pipelines
• LLM infrastructure processing billions of tokens a day, where latency, reliability and cost pull against each other at every step
• Regulated health data, so every infrastructure decision has to hold up in SOC 2 and HIPAA audits, not only in production
• A blank page for platform engineering: no inherited platform team, no fixed roadmap, and direct influence on how the whole engineering organization ships
• Real cost ownership, with a cloud bill that needs to reach a target number while the volume keeps climbing

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in software engineering, with the most recent 2+ years focused on platform or infrastructure work (Platform, Infra, DevOps or SRE)
• Experience owning production infrastructure, building the platform function, or being an early or founding engineer at a Series A to D startup
• Production-level code in Python and TypeScript
• Strong depth in AWS and infrastructure as code, with a track record of building reliable, observable infrastructure that other engineers actually use
• Experience bringing a cloud bill down to a target number, and comfort setting your own direction with a high level of autonomy
• Clear, structured communication, since you will work across teams and report straight to engineering leadership
• Ability to work hybrid in New York (4 days a week on-site, or 3 days if you live more than one hour away)
• Fluent English
• Bonus: experience in health tech, fintech or another regulated industry, infrastructure in a SOC 2 or HIPAA environment, LLM infrastructure, rolling out an identity provider like Okta, or mentoring engineers

Its real-time medical review platform helps healthcare providers catch clinical and compliance risks before they affect patients, and it already serves more than 250,000 providers across all 50 US states. The engineering team is organized in two product teams, and this role sits between them with a direct line to the VP of Engineering.
