Upscale, Inc. is seeking a senior Platform Diagnostic Engineer to own diagnostics for hardware platforms from bring-up to field support. You will write diagnostic firmware and software, debug across hardware, BIOS, and the Linux kernel, and ensure systems are reliable and performant.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams. You should be detail‑oriented, proactively spot issues, and clearly explain findings to stakeholders.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in diagnostic, embedded, or platform firmware development.
• Strong proficiency in BIOS/UEFI development and debugging, including platform initialization, ACPI, SMBIOS, and boot flow.
• Strong proficiency with the Linux kernel, including device driver development and kernel debugging.
• Expert-level C programming with scripting in Python and/or Bash.
• Solid electronics background and hands-on hardware interface experience.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Aufgaben

• Design, develop, and maintain platform diagnostics for board bring-up, system validation, manufacturing test, and field failure analysis.
• Debug and resolve complex issues across hardware, BIOS/UEFI, bootloader, Linux kernel, and drivers.
• Develop and customize BIOS/UEFI firmware to support platform initialization and diagnostic hooks.
• Develop and debug Linux kernel modules and device drivers for platform components such as PCIe, I2C/SMBus, SPI, GPIO, memory, and storage.
• Test and characterize hardware and software components to meet performance, reliability, and quality targets.
• Root-cause failures using lab equipment and datasheets; collaborate with teams to improve test coverage and yield.
• Document test plans, diagnostic procedures, and failure analysis reports; present findings to stakeholders.
