Job summary

Pindrop seeks a Senior Software Engineer for Platform Core to own and evolve high-scale backend and data-layer services that power all Pindrop products. You’ll design, build, test, and operate distributed backends and APIs, ensuring reliability and SLA compliance during peak traffic.

You’ll own end-to-end platform work, collaborating with Product, SRE, and peer teams, while mentoring others and driving engineering standards through reviews and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend services and APIs experience in production.
• Strong hands-on Python and/or Go.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native development (AWS/GCP).
• Proven ownership including deployment, monitoring, and on-call for high-scale services.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL/Aurora, Redis, and RabbitMQ for reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate distributed backend services and APIs for high-volume interactions.
• Own platform work end-to-end from problem framing to production rollout and support.
• Improve reliability, latency, and cost across shared platform systems.
• Collaborate with Product, SRE, and peer teams to deliver platform improvements without destabilizing traffic.
• Participate in on-call, incident response, and capacity planning; contribute to docs and reviews.
