Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in New Brunswick, NJ seeks a senior principal engineer to architect and build a shared, full‑stack analytics and digital-work platform. You will design multi‑service systems combining orchestration, autonomous agents, shared services, and a federated frontend into a reusable platform‑as‑a‑service.

You will own end‑to‑end development from async backend to modern web frontends, delivering scalable, secure, and observable capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with deep full-stack delivery including production experience building LLM-powered or agentic applications.
• Strong Python, including async patterns (asyncio, async/await).
• Production experience with FastAPI or similar, REST, and event-driven architectures (WebSocket/SSE).

Responsibilities

• Architect distributed, multi-service platforms with orchestration and autonomous agents.
• Build internal SaaS/PaaS with reusable components and SDKs.
• Develop backend APIs and real-time streaming (WebSocket/SSE).
• Create a unified frontend experience using React and module federation.
• Lead MCP servers powering web and Claude Desktop surfaces.
• Integrate cloud LLM providers and manage prompt/versioning.
• Define standards for observability, security, and governance.
