Job summary

ByLabs is seeking a Platform Architect to own version engineering, module governance, and reproducible deployment across 2000+ microservices. You will design the version set model and hermetic build pipelines, maintaining a live dependency graph with automatic conflict detection.

Lead monorepo governance, cross-site change impact analysis, and GitOps-driven multi-site deployment. You will shape testing from module self-tests to site-specific validation, ensuring regulatory-ready reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in large-scale distributed systems and platform infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in build systems and dependency management at scale (e.g., Bazel, Buck, Pants, Nx).
• Production experience with reproducible build engineering, content-addressable storage, hermetic builds, deterministic CI, artifact provenance (SLSA).
• Experience building dependency graph tooling: static/runtime analysis, impact computation, selective testing.
• Strong background in semantic versioning governance across large service fleets.
• Experience with API contract evolution: protobuf/gRPC versioning, schema evolution strategies, contract testing.
• Experience with multi-region/multi-tenant platform architectures serving regulated workloads.
• Track record migrating monolithic systems to modular architectures without business disruption.

Responsibilities

• Design the version set model: each site defined as a locked, tested combination of module versions.
• Architect reproducible build pipelines ensuring byte-identical artifacts across builds and hermetic environments.
• Build and maintain the live dependency graph spanning 2000+ services with analysis and conflict detection.
• Design the monorepo governance model with clear module boundaries and CODEOWNERS enforcement.
• Architect change impact analysis systems to identify affected modules/sites/tests for each PR.
• Design GitOps-driven multi-site deployment with site config repos and automated strategies.
• Architect a four-layer testing framework from module self-tests to site-specific tests with automated coverage enforcement.
