Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a Plant Manager to lead a complex manufacturing operation in the specialty chemicals/materials sector. The role requires strategic and hands-on leadership to meet safety, quality, and financial targets while driving growth and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will supervise production, engineering, maintenance, and CI initiatives, develop site strategies, and foster positive relations with a unionized workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience within chemical, specialty materials, coatings, polymers, plastics, or other process manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing plant operations and cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading operations within a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, operational excellence, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Direct all plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing performance.
• Lead production, engineering, maintenance, and continuous improvement functions across the facility.
• Develop and execute site strategies that support business objectives, growth initiatives, and operational performance goals.
• Foster a positive employee relations environment and effectively lead within a unionized workforce.
• Lead capital project planning and execution, including equipment upgrades, process improvements, and facility investments.
