Job summary

Voltava in Michigan seeks a Plant Manager III to lead the Avancez production operation, overseeing materials, assembly, shipping, quality, and maintenance. You will develop manufacturing policies, ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets, and strengthen leadership across all levels of the plant.

You will drive lean implementations, manage staffing to budget, and collaborate with sales for new business.

Qualifications

5+ years in increasingly complex management positions with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes of the automotive industry.
Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma process improvements.
Vision and ability to translate progressive operating techniques into applications and results.
Broad knowledge of manufacturing financial principles.
Strong logic and analytical skills to direct resolution of complex or unusual business problems.
Action-oriented and innovative in leading the manufacturing operations.
Process knowledge of plant department functions and roles to facilitate overall plant synergy.
Proven leadership ability and utilization of teamwork.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to interface with and motivate all levels of team members.
Ability to mentor and teach team members effective problem-solving methods for related plant and customer problems/issues.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the leadership team and develop their direct reports.
Plan, coordinate, and direct manufacturing activities including safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
Staff the plant appropriately to meet budgeted performance.
Utilize KPIs to track and drive improvements aligned to the business plan.
Drive lean Manufacturing using standard work and job safety analysis.
Deploy policies to improve plant performance and meet customer expectations.
Develop and maintain ISO/IATF quality and regulatory compliance.
Lead the plant safety committee and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
Collaborate with Sales on quoting, capacity, and program management.
Maintain 5S and PFEP in plant layout.
Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
