Job summary

Advansix in Alabama is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician to lead maintenance and repair of plant systems and equipment. You will handle pumps, valves, and related components, fabricate parts, and supervise contractor work to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires 7+ years of experience or an apprenticeship, strong communication, and the ability to read instructions, logs, and reports. You’ll use the Work Order system daily and perform physically demanding tasks in varying

Qualifications

• 7+ years of recent experience in the trade or completion of an apprenticeship in a formal program.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to understand written instructions, log sheets, inspection reports, and related documentation.
• Knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use the plant’s Work Order system.
• Ability to use basic hand tools such as pipe wrenches, valve wrenches, pliers, and hammers.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work on plant systems and equipment using work orders.
• Perform maintenance on pumps, including seals, power ends, diaphragms, oil changes and alignments.
• Troubleshoot relief valve settings and related components.
• Coordinate with Engineers, Production Leaders, Operators and other staff to maintain plant systems safely.
• Oversee contractor work and coordinate with Production Leaders on priorities.
• Fabricate parts and materials and weld as needed.
• Track work orders, materials, supplies and contractor activities in the Work Order system.
