Job summary

Southern Recruiting Solutions, Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead a 24/7 manufacturing plant's maintenance, utilities, and facility operations, championing safety and continuous improvement.

You will plan and schedule work, mentor a maintenance team, manage budget, implement TPM, CMMS, LOTO and other programs, and partner with Operations to reduce downtime while advancing reliability.

Qualifications

• BSME degree required; electrical or chemical considered
• 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• 5+ years leading an industrial maintenance organization
• Experience with TPM, SMED, 5S, Autonomous Maintenance
• CMMS experience
• Industrial safety programs including LOTO, Line Entry, Confined Space, and Hot Work
• Powerhouse, utilities, and plant infrastructure management
• Project management from concept through execution
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance repair, installation standards, codes, and specifications
• Experience in a food-grade manufacturing environment is a plus
• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the maintenance team with a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement
• Oversee maintenance, utilities, and facility operations supporting a 24/7 manufacturing plant
• Plan, schedule, and ensure timely completion of maintenance work
• Partner with Operations to prioritize maintenance activities, support production goals, and minimize downtime
• Manage preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs to improve equipment reliability
• Oversee the maintenance department budget and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs
• Develop safety training and employee development programs to strengthen team capabilities
• Monitor department safety performance and housekeeping standards
• Support labor relations and union interactions
• Lead RCFA for equipment failures and safety incidents, and implement corrective actions
• Track maintenance KPIs and use data to drive continuous improvement
