Job summary

The Bolton Group in Little Rock seeks a Plant Controller to build the plant's finance function from the ground up and partner with the Plant Manager on performance. This is a flagship operation with outsourced AP and shared services, blending strategic leadership with hands-on finance.

You'll own budgeting, forecasting, standard costs, cost rolls, variances analysis, and cost-savings initiatives, while ensuring GAAP and SOX controls and cross-functional project support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 10+ years in finance or accounting leadership.
• Experience in a large, complex manufacturing organization with deep plant finance and cost accounting.
• Track record partnering with plant managers to improve results.
• Experience building processes at startup ramp-up or in a newly created role is a strong plus.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience with JD Edwards and OneStream is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Plant Manager and operations leaders to drive financial and operational performance.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, spend analysis, mid-month operational reporting, and KPI reporting.
• Design and maintain standard costs for all plant products, and run the annual cost roll.
• Analyze material and labor variances, and turn them into actions for operations.
• Plan and control repairs and maintenance spending.
• Find and track cost savings and profit-improvement opportunities.
• Set the tone for controls, write policies and procedures, and ensure GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Train and coach operations teams on controls, policies, and financial metrics.
• Support new systems and other cross-functional projects.

About the opportunity

A publicly traded manufacturer with a strong reputation for innovation and sustainability is bringing a major new plant online in Little Rock. It's planned as the company's flagship operation. Production is ramping now, and this is the first controller the site has ever had. You'll build the plant's finance function from the ground up.

You'll sit on the plant leadership team and partner directly with the Plant Manager. Shared services and AP are outsourced, so this is a strategic business partner role, not a transactional one. There are no direct reports today, but other plant controllers will report to this role as the company's network grows.

Reporting

Functionally to the Director of Manufacturing Controllership. Operationally to the Plant Manager.

What you'll do
