This role acts as a key financial partner to plant operations, bridging operational and financial perspectives and supporting monthly closings, variance analysis, annual planning, and ad hoc analyses.

The position emphasizes collaboration with plant leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring standard costs are accurately reflected and financial reporting informs performance

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted business partner to Plant Leadership.
• Provide data-driven insights to drive performance.
• Track and report actual performance against plans, forecasts, and standards.
• Track and analyze spending trends and headcount, driving corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly closing entries and financial statements.
• Support the annual plan and interim projections.
• Ensure accurate reflection of standard costs and GAAP compliance.
• Drive process improvements in financial analysis and expense vs. capital decisions.

Overview

An established manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Plant Accountant to serve as a key financial partner to plant operations. This role bridges operational and financial perspectives, supporting monthly closings, variance analysis, annual planning, and ad hoc analysis. The position is highly visible, working closely with plant leadership and company leadership beyond the facility.

What you’ll do

• Serve as a trusted business partner to Plant Leadership
• Provide data-driven insights to help drive performance and objectives
• Track and report actual performance against plans, forecasts, and standards
• Track and analyze spending trends and headcount, driving corrective actions
• Prepare monthly closing entries
• Prepare monthly financial statements and analytics
• Support preparation of the annual plan and interim projections
• Ensure accurate reflection of standard costs
• Drive process improvements in financial analysis
• Manage expense vs. capital decisions in accordance with GAAP and company guidelines
• Serve as financial advisor and provide validation for Plant Cost Savings initiatives
• Maintain conformance with ongoing audit requirements and internal controls oversight
• Ensure inventories are recorded in accordance with GAAP and reserves are properly maintained
• Represent the Finance Team in plant meetings

Required qualifications

• 5-8 years of Manufacturing Accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field
• Experience with standard cost valuation
• Cost accounting experience in an ERP systems environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
