Qualifications

• State-certified and licensed Architect or Professional Engineer.
• Must possess a Combination Examiner certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Review building permit plans for conformance to local buildings and zoning codes.
• Coordinate compliance with Inspection staff and review teams.
• Perform site inspections as assigned and ensure adherence to codes and regulations.
• Provide assistance to the public and contractors on building code inquiries; recommend corrective actions.
• Authorize acceptance or rejection of building permit applications based on reviews; assist in documenting findings.
• If certified as CBO, cover for the Chief Building Official in their absence.
