Senior Planning Manager - Ohio, United States - 12 Months Contract
This is a fantastic opportunity for aSenior Planning Manager to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage the integrated project schedule using Primavera P6 across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and qualification work streams.
- Lead planning and scheduling efforts across greenfield/brownfield pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, including drug substance, drug product, fill/finish, and support utilities.
- Interface closely with Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management to ensure alignment across time lines and deliverables.
- Work with EPCM partners to drive schedule accuracy, ensure alignment of critical path, and assess float and risk mitigation.
- Provide clear reporting on schedule performance, trends, and key risks to senior stakeholders.
- Facilitate schedule reviews, look-ahead planning sessions, and monthly project status updates.
- Monitor and analyze delays, proposing recovery strategies and solutions where required.
- Support earned value management (EVM), change control processes, and integration of cost and schedule data.
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in project planning/scheduling roles on CAPEX projects in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences sectors.
- Proven track record supporting large-scale projects ($500M–$2B+), ideally within a regulated (GMP/GxP/FDA) environment.
- Expert in Primavera P6, with ability to manage complex, multi-work stream programs.
- Deep understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and validation work flows.
- Experience working with EPCM firms and managing contractor schedules.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all project phases.
- Knowledge of integrated project controls tools and principles (e.g., EVM, risk management).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Advanced certifications (PMP, MSP, AACE) are a plus.
- Exposure to aseptic manufacturing, sterile fill-finish, API facilities, and/or biologics manufacturing.
