SSFM is seeking a Senior Planner in Honolulu, HI, to lead transportation, community, and resilience planning efforts from scoping through delivery. You will serve as the main client contact and represent SSFM with professionalism and cultural awareness.

The role requires 5–8+ years in planning, strong communication skills, and experience preparing planning reports and presentations. AICP is preferred or obtainable within a reasonable timeframe.

Formación

• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in transportation, community, resilience, or general planning.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects.
• Strong communication skills including writing, stakeholder engagement, meeting facilitation, and client interaction.
• Experience preparing planning reports, assessments, studies, and related documents.
• Strategic problem-solving and adaptability in high-pressure environments.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• AICP preferred, or ability to obtain AICP certification within a reasonable timeframe.

Responsabilidades

• Independently manage transportation, community, and resilience planning projects — from scoping through delivery — with full ownership of tasks and schedules.
• Serve as the primary client point of contact, maintaining relationships and representing SSFM with professionalism.
• Lead advanced planning analyses, write reports, prepare graphics, and synthesize data into actionable recommendations.
• Design and facilitate stakeholder and community engagement, including workshops and public meetings.
• Guide planning tasks and mentor junior planners to elevate team performance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Thrive in a dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and tight timelines.
