Job summary

SSFM International in Hawaii is seeking a Civil Design Engineer or licensed Civil Engineer to join our Civil Transportation Team. You will lead design for complete streets, roadway and multimodal projects, collaborating with architects, planners and field staff.

The role emphasizes hands-on CAD work (AutoCAD/Civil 3D), plan development, client meetings, and mentoring junior engineers. A bachelor’s in civil engineering and 3–4 years’ experience are required; a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3–4 years of civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Word, Excel, Project.
• Strong communication, organization, and deadline-driven mindset.
• Valid driver's license with clean abstract.
• Ability to pass background and motor vehicle checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Civil 3D and AutoCAD design for complete streets, roadway, and transportation projects.
• Review, develop, and coordinate detailed plan sets, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project teams and the Traffic Group to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Attend client meetings, communicate technical solutions, and support contract administration.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
• Visit project sites as needed to monitor progress and serve as on-site representative.
