Job summary

The DGS Office of External Affairs seeks a Principal Planner in Delaware to provide senior oversight of permitting and planning programs, driving regulatory reform and process improvements. The role interfaces with federal and state agencies to ensure compliance and coordinated action.

Responsibilities include leading KPI development, standardizing planning practices, supervising planning staff, and building consensus among communities and industry stakeholders for efficient regulatory reform

Qualifications

• Experience applying principles and practices of planning related to regulatory development and permitting reform.
• Experience interpreting environmental policy, economics laws, rules, regulations and procedures.
• Experience in planning project management including planning, developing, implementing, managing and evaluating projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level oversight of permitting and planning programs.
• Lead regulatory reform and process improvement initiatives.
• Develop key performance indicators to measure program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with federal and state agencies to support compliance and coordination.
• Build consensus across communities and the regulated industry.
