Job summary

Delaware's State Office of Planning Coordination seeks a Principal Planner to lead statewide planning policy coordination and represent state officials at state, regional, and national levels.

As one of three Circuit Rider Planners, the incumbent serves as the primary liaison for local governments in one Delaware county while contributing to diverse statewide projects. Expertise in land use, geospatial data, and project management is required.

Qualifications

• Experience applying principles and practices of planning related to land use and geospatial data coordination.
• Experience interpreting laws, rules, regulations and procedures in land use and geospatial data.
• Experience in planning project management including planning, developing, implementing, managing and evaluating planning projects.
• Preferred experience with ESRI GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro or Spatial Analyst.
• Must obtain AICP certification within 24 months of hire.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
